Mr Heater Little Buddy Review
In this video I show the size of the Little Buddy heater and test how long it will run with one propane cylinder. Today we are reviewing the Mr. Heater’s Little Buddy. It’s a decent sized unit, slightly larger than I thought. Still very portable and small compared to the larger Mr. Buddy. My favorite thing to use this for is heating up your hands outside. It puts out a lot of heat, it goes great between our chairs. It has a tip-over feature so if it is knocked over it will turn off, it also has a low oxygen sensor so if you are using it in a small space and the oxygen is gone it will shut off. You can use these in a tent pretty safely. The little buddy is 11’ by 11’ by 11’, like a one foot cube of space. It also has a stand and a one pound propane cylinder. Here you can see them side by side. It actually saves a lot of space for storage if you are using a van or a small camper. It will heat 100 square feet and you can see how long it will last in this timelapse on a 200 square foot room. I put a thermometer at the top of the room and one at table height. It did the job, and in the timelapse you can see how long it lasts. I wound up with 6 hours and 48 minutes of heating, which is longer than the specs provided online. I also want to show you the basic operation. The little buddy and the stand are all that come in the box. To fire it up, take your one pound propane canister and line up the threads. Screw it on. Take the base, set it in nice and snug. Then press the red button repeatedly until the pilot light comes on, let it run for five or ten seconds. Then release the button and the unit is turned on. To turn it off, just press the black button on the side. It will also turn off if tipped. The little buddy has one setting, and it puts out 3800 BTUs. The Big Buddy on its lowest setting puts out 4000 BTU and it can also go to 9000 or 18000 BTUs, which is greater for heating large areas. The Little Buddy is lightweight and easy to operate which has been quite convenient. Thank you Mr. Heater and thank you all for watching. Until next time, Happy Camping!
